Monday Couer d'Alene to Medicine Hat

We Another travel day.  One of the things on the bus was that each half day most of us moved seats.  So first thing in the morning and after lunch we moved one seat clockwise.  The last afternoon I had moved around enough that I ended up in the front passenger side with a wonderful view out.
We started dropping people off and saying our goodbyes.   What a wonderful trip. Thank you so much to Jay and Joanne Dejong and to our wonderful Guide Corilea.

Sunday, Bend to Couer D'Alene

Mostly a travel day.  However we ended the day with a lovely dessert and champagne reception as a farewell.

Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show continued.

I have so many more pictures it is easier to add them to a new post.  Sorry they are not necessarily in any order - just as I took them or had missed posting them already.  The quilts did seem to be hung in groupings - so that for example Bargellos were together, moderns together, 100 block quilts together etc.  However some may have been in several of those categories so obviously couldn't appear in both.

We happened to see  the lady that made the quilt here.

We had to try lemonade from these young ladies.

The show was very welled organized with maps of the town and if you were looking for a specific quilt - you could check at the show office for it's location.  With 1400 quilts it would be easy to miss, I am sure we only saw a fraction of all the quilts!

We had arrived in Sisters at about 9:30 by about 3:00 I had seen enough quilts and just needed to sit in the shade.  Luckily we were being picked up at 3:30.

There had been tentative plans to attend a Summer festival in downtown Bend where we were staying however rain dampened those plans.  The bus went to Hobby Lobby instead for a quick look around.  Five of us decided we weren't quilted out yet and took a taxi to another BJ's Quilt Basket.  What a wonderful store.  I still had by Dejongs name tag on and they asked if we were part of a bus tour as they hadn't been expecting us.  We shopped a little (or a fair amount) and then asked if they would call us a cab back to the hotel.  They did one better - they gave us some free gifts and then the owners drove us themselves.  This was totally unexpected but a great end to a great day.
