October 2013 Guild Meeting

Although I missed the September meeting I was happy that Brenda had blogged so that I could see what everyone had been up to. It wasn't until part way through our October meeting that I realized Brenda was not taking her usual pictures so maybe I should start taking some! I will post what I have. I was the first person up for Show and Tell with my very late Wedding Gift for my niece and her husband Mike. They received this gift after their first wedding anniversary as it was harder than I realized when I started. It was a quilt that took much concentration and larger blocks of time to work on. I did not take a picture at the meeting but have one of the quilt on Megan and Mike's bed. This is a Jinny Beyer pattern called Four Winds. It was in Jan/Feb McCall's Quilting magazine. I ordered most of the fabric from Jinny Beyer as well. Terry Whitman quilted it for me.
Jan shared the results of her corded landscape class. Jan said this was time consuming but fun.
Jan also showed us a beautiful quilt she made for her son-in-law. It is a Gold Medal pattern and has a beautiful patterned minky as the backing.
Donna shared several items with us that she worked on at the retreat. I didn't do a very good job of getting pictures but here is a slightly blurry shot!
Marg showed us an "Easy Striped table runner" she had made with a pattern from Lydia.
Our final show and tell was a beautiful Quilt top made entirely by hand piecing all the curved pieces. Elma had planned to make it bigger but stopped at this slightly smaller version as it was very time consuming.
My apologies if I missed anything!
